I’m a diabetic white swan

A swan that swims so sweet

I’m smiling so serenely

But you cannot see my feet

I look like I am ok

And I tell you that I’m fine

But I’m hiding how I’m feeling

Feel devoid and less devine

With anxiety overwhelming

Diabetes troubles me

I’m a swan with covered feelings

I can feel, what you can’t see

I do not let you worry

I’m conscious that you care

I hide diabetic suffering

I’m the only one aware

Take care of diabetes

It’s shaking up your days

Be a swan that’s always gracious

And remember, caution pays

Look at how your living

Are you feeling calm

As you battle carbohydrates

To alleviate the harm

You can’t take on the whole world

Or your swimming swan will sink

Kicking frantically below the surface

Is harder than you think

Lean on those around you

They are out there, everywhere

They just Swanna help your swimming

Embrace their love and care
