DIABETIC Nathan Baird is to pedal the distance of a marathon to raise money for a charity close to his heart.
The 25-year-old, of Bentilee, will cover 26 miles on an exercise bike in return for sponsorship for JDRF, which aims to improve the lives of Type 1 diabetes sufferers.
Nathan knows only too well the challenges of living with the illness after he was diagnosed at the age of six.
His dad John Beeston has also experienced serious health complications as a result of being diabetic.
