I unfortunately got 4 wrong (I was only guessing)
but useful for newly diagnosed.

I got 5 wrong but I too was only guessing. The one about the cataracts surprised me as last time I saw an opticians (in early June) she said that was age related only...

I got 10 right but only because my dad was a Type 1 diabetic and had loads of problems with his eyes!

Try telling that to my 12 year old daughter! (It is unusual - my daughters Diabetes clinic have never seen another case in a child AND her optician referred her to a specialist for diagnosis)

I got them all right😱 but then I have spent a lot of time in hospital eye units (including 3 hours yesterday!)

I got 8 out of 10, although I would argue about the two I got 'wrong' 🙂 I said true to the fact that diabetic eye disease had early warning signs as I took this to mean the detection of early changes (i.e. background retinopathy). Woudn't affect your sight, it's true, but would be an early sign on examination. Also, I said true to the statement that 'People who have good control of their diabetes are not at high risk for diabetic eye disease'. Yes, we are all at risk, but are we all 'high risk' regardless of our control? Surely someone with long term poor control is at a much higher risk than someone with good control so I think the wording is poor.

Yes, I hate being wrong! 😉

I got the early warning one, for the same reason as northener, I too took it to mean during an eye examination...

Monica I'm surprised that you got told that a cateract is an age related thing, any eye injury can cause a cateract it only needs the lens to be scratched... An ex-boyfriend dad had one develope at as a lad after getting his eye caught by a bramble bush... Which set everything in process and by the time he was an adult lost the site in that eye, but wouldn't have the cateract operation when it became available!

Haha at you lot, I second guessed that they wouldn't even think of 'unless of course you have really good control' and having been right in my prediction the first time I did it again the second time they did it.

Plus I already knew bout cataracts TY very much.
