My furbaby has been diagnosed at type 1, so vet nurse training me up for insulin jabs etc. Think diet will be OK as kitties are obligate carnivores. Question is "Can kitties join the forum?", please

I think the diet recommended is purely to line the vets pocket :( Just feed his/her normal food and inject to cover the grub. That's what I did with my dog when he was diagnosed with diabetes back in the 90's

Agree with @Pumper_Sue. My wee border terrier had diabetes for the last 3 years of her life (along with COPD, an enlarged heart and a depressed trachea). Cost me a small fortune in medication but it kept her happy and (relatively!) healthy until she died aged 17. She was easy to administer the insulin to luckily, not sure how easy a kittycat will be!
