Diabetic care

for over a week I've been trying to contact my diabetic nurse, after a hypo due to wrong medication given. Now been told the nurse is on holiday, asked to book an appointment none available this month. Been told to test sugars every couple of hours and someone will call for results, no such call so no idea how long to carry this on for, I want to change medication to the very first medication I started on as it worked best for me.... feeling so frustrated that I can't speak to anyone about this.

I wouldn't carry on, I would phone your GP surgery or Diabetes Team at the local hospital if you have one and demand to be seen as they cant leave you carrying on like this hun x

This was the Gp. Don't have a diabetic team at hospital. Completely lost as too what to do. Going to see if I can get a same day appt tomorrow again but can't get past recptionist

Can you not book on line. My surgery release appointments over night and have successfully got appointments by going online in the early hours and got them with my Doctor of choice.

Finally got somewhere today, managed to see a nurse who took me off trulicity and back onto dapagliflozin which I much prefer. She also said that my hba1c when purely on dapagliflozin was 4.8 which I don't think is too bad as feel much better at this level then I do on trulicity where my levels go up and down all over the place.

She advised me not test all the time but to take it everywhere as my level is on the lower side if I start too feel unwell I can test and see if I need to eat something... been looking at glucose tablets does anyone have any advice on these.

Again a huge apology about being told to take both my hba1c was 3.6 on this and it wasn't picked up.

Got the ok to go back to work, Yay, not one for sitting at home... given me a cert to say needs a break every 3 hours.

Anyways happier news, feel like I've only posted negative things on here.

I use them as i am less likely to have too many which i would with jelly babies that some use for low blood sugars.

I have glucose tablets to take in my bag when I go out but I've never had to use them, I usually use jelly babies, what advice are you looking for regarding glucose tablets hun xx

Just if there worth having, they have advised me to eat something every 3 hrs but I'm trying to lose weight and don't want to be eating all the time, would glucose tablets be worth having if my bg dropped slightly rather than eating all the time

Well people use them for hypos so yeah they would work hun x
