The region of Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley has one of the highest rates of diabetic amputations in England.

Diabetes UK, a charity which represents people with the condition, contacted the local clinical commissioning group to highlight the problem.

The area sees are an average of 3.3 amputations per 1,000 diabetics per year compared to the England average of 2.6 per 1,000.

If they weren't checking feet properly it would be interesting to see the national statistics for the worst test strip prescribing areas of the country🙄

Now that would be a useful bit of research, instead of the rubbish like telling us that carbs raise levels etc! 🙂
 
Perhaps an FOI enquiry might be in order? Trouble is, for it to be a valid piece of research, you'd have to get a representative sample of all the CCGs for comparison. Do you reckon DUK might take this on if we ask very nicely?
