We just saw a tweet (twitter for those not familiar) from Diabetes UK, directing families of T1 adolescents to a research opportunity on their website.

http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Research...trial-of-Triple-P-Positive-Parenting-Program/

It's aimed at parents of T1 children aged between 11 and 17. The research team are based in Manchester but I think it can be done by internet/post.

It seems odd that DUK are not posting these up on here to gain access to our thriving parents section. Maybe they could use this as another way of linking with the forum ?

Excellent.🙂

The joy of these research programmes is that they're already approved by DUK and are a direct benefit to diabetics. There's a nice one for male T1s in the Reading area between 18 and 35, who can earn ?300 for a study.

It would be nice to feel that we, as a ready made pool of informed diabetics, can help to further studies in some way.🙂

Was part of what we talked about with Alan - I just hadn't got around to posting on here yet 🙂

Sounds good Joe. The DUK twitter feed could maybe also point people towards the forum if they need advice/support.

I'll shut up now since you probably have enough to sort out ! :D

You're a star ! :D

We'll (I'll) try not to bully you so much in the future ! 😱

It looks like a very interesting study. Dont think we qualify unfortunately, because of K 's other health issues, but I hope it goes well. 🙂

Its good that someone has acknowled that adolescence is even harder for some diabetic children (and families)

Downside is that by the time they finish the research expect K will be too old to benefit from it!
