Diabetes UK has updated its recipe pages on its website - new elements include: improved breakdown of nutritional information (eg carbs/sugar/salt/fat per portion), and improved search function, by ingredient, meal type eg main/snack, and dietary requirements eg gluten free.

Let me know what you think and if there is anything you try and like 🙂

I know not everyone is totally brill when it comes to carbs, protein, fat etc content of food but even bearing that in mind - I still find the info under one of the photos that 'CHERRIES are low in fat' ridiculous.

Do people really imagine that common fruit contains ANY flippin fat?

What gets me is how high in carbs a large proportion of their recipes are. I guess it reflects the old (and sadly still adhered to) thinking of Diabetic diet = high in complex carbs.

Don't get mad, get even!

If a bunch of us enter with some low-carb recipes and stick on testimonials like 'I can eat this without even having to bolus!' or 'Since I started making meals with this kind of carb count, my A1C dropped from 65 to 40 and I lost 3 stone!', even if we don't win, that's surely got to start ruffling some feathers over at DUK.
