PEOPLE in Bedford and Luton are among the least likely to swim regularly in the country, according to figures published today by Diabetes UK.
According to the league table, based on Sport England data, just 5.6 per cent of the adults in Luton say they swim once a week putting it 205th out of 221 local authorities.
While in Bedford, six per cent of adults swim once a week putting it 189th in the league.
The best performing area in the Eastern region is Basildon, Essex, at number 13 in the table with 9.4 per cent of adults swimming once a week.
