Hi my name is Ben I am 22 and about a year ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes type 2. I was not looking after myself and was not taking the metformin(pill format) i had been prescribed, my blood sugars got so high (over 40) that I had some kind of fit and went into a very delerious state, my keytone level was VERY high. I was rushed to hospital, and anyway, it was all sorted and am now looking after my diabetes. I am now on Insulin injection (3 times a day nova fast acting and 1 of the slow release) I am now looking after my diabetes and for the most part my blood sugars have been where they should be (between 4 and 7). I also excerise alot and am not overweight by any means... anyway, to get to the point. since i had the fit and have been on insulin injection (im guessing its a result of one of the two) I have been experiencing terrible confusion/nausia, its a hard feeling to explain, it is almost like a semi dream state that i go in and out of, it comes on and off and is effecting my everyday living.
I was wondering if anyone could help or has experienced the same kind of thing? I obviously told my diabetic consultant about my fit etc and they didn't really have much to say about it, not very helpful at all and was told that anyone can have a fit and they are not concerned unless it happens again, i'm pretty sure it was due to how ridicuously high my blood sugars were at the time. I am just abit concerned and frustrated because I do not understand why it is happening. Is it something completely unrelated to diabetes? Anyway, any help or advice you can give is appreciated! thanks people, Ben 🙂
