Hello all,
I am not a diabetic, I am a lecturer at Northumbria University and I am leading an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology. On this course we look at the causes of chronic health conditions and how these conditions impact on the lives of those who have the condition. Diabetes is one of the health conditions that we cover and I am very aware of not having the students graduate without ever heard first hand from people with diabetes.
I am therefore very keen to try to get some one (or more than one person) in to talk to the students and describe to them what it means having diabetes in terms of daily living and also for friends and family. I think it is important that the students are able to get answers to some of their questions from the people best placed to give them.
As such I would be most grateful if there is anyone (or any group) who has diabetes and is willing to come to the university for an hour on the 22nd Feb from 14:00-15:00 to talk to the students.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Les
