A man with Type 1 diabetes is taking on the challenge of the Virgin Money London Marathon to raise funds for a charity which campaigns on behalf of people affected by the condition.

Eight years after being diagnosed with the condition, Jason Lewis, from Brighton, will tackle the 26-mile run in aid of Diabetes UK.

The 25-year-old said: "I was absolutely devastated when I found out I had Type 1 diabetes. I had been feeling ill and had the tell-tale symptoms of losing weight, being thirsty and going to the toilet a lot but it wasn't until I started falling asleep in college that my dad insisted I visit the doctors.
