A DUNFERMLINE man with a severe medical condition has been hit with a bill for bedroom tax despite being unable to get a smaller flat.
Thomas Barbour (59) of Erich Drive, Dunfermline, can't climb stairs due to problems caused by diabetes.
Unable to work on medical grounds, he downsized from a house on Keir Hardie Terrace and looked for a one bedroom flat.
But Kingdom Housing Association had no one-bed properties that suited Mr Barbour's needs, instead placing him in a two-bed, ground-loor flat.
Now he's stuck with a ?40-a-month bill for bedroom tax for having the extra room. .../
