A SCHOOLBOY from Notts has been chosen to represent Great Britain in an international football tournament for diabetes sufferers.
Winger Adam Alais, 12, of Cromford Avenue, Mansfield, was selected by talent scouts from the Football Association and is due to fly to Switzerland this month to represent the country as part of the Junior Diabetes Cup.
The competition has been running since 2007, and is an annual international football tournament for children with type one diabetes.
Adam, who attends Brunt's School, in Mansfield, was one of thousands of diabetes sufferers who sent off an application form to represent Great Britain to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which runs the tournament.
