Hi Bev,

Hope you're both feeling better! I had really high sugar levels after the seasonal jab this year...I'm on the list for the swine flu one but not looking forward to it!

Good luck with the T lessons - hopefully this is just a introductory blip! 🙂

All the best,

Twitchy x

Hi Bev

Missed this first time around... SO feel for you here. How is A recently? Poor thing.

So hard on all of you.

Sending strength,

xxoo

I agree Diabetes is rubbish! its not fair for kids to deal with it - i feel for you... sending you lots of good luck your way!! xx

Hi all,
Thankyou to all of you - I do know that in the big scheme of things this is such a tiny blip. But it does help that you all understand and that you have all probably 'been there' in one way or another.
Like Adrienne says - non-diabetics cannot possibly understand how it feels to be the only one who 'cant' do things or exactly how it feels being diabetic.

I take my hat off to all you diabetics - your made of strong stuff. I just hope Alex is as strong when he is an adult. I do tell him lots of your experiences and how you overcame them, so thankyou to one and all.

p.s. Alex's levels are through the roof today -he is on 200% temp basal with added corrections. I suspect its the swine flu jab! But rather he had the jab than the flu.🙂😱Bev

Hya Bev

I hope you and A are doing ok. Jack had 1/2 the swine flu vacc the other day and he had a high temp, didnt want to eat much and high B/S so I also suspect the swine flu jab. Hes got to have the other half 4 days before xmas day poor thing. I agree with you about the above I read alot of the post on here to try and understand how our kids are feeling. You guys are all great.

Hi all,
Thanks again for your kind words and support. Gem, sorry to hear J has been suffering too. Alex's levels have started to stabilise a little now and he is on lots more insulin to bring the levels down - thank heavens for the pump! He was on 230% extra basal at one stage with corrections thrown in for extra measure! I wonder if J's next injections could happen a bit sooner or later than 4 days before christmas? It would be horrible to have him suffering at all over the christmas period.:(🙂

hya Bev

Im so glad Alex's levels have come down. I really feel for our little ones, they shouldnt have to worry about injections, snack times, what to eat etc. Us mums waking them up in the night to test when they arent feeling very well. I tryed my hardest not to wake Jack the other night but he woke up, must try harder not to next time. Its quite hard to test in the dark aint it haha.

Jacks have been slightly better over the weekend. Friday was awful he was sent home from school because he didnt feel well and his b/s went sky high. Luckly my mum was on evenings so she went to fetch him for me. Ye i'm going to change his injection date as I dont ant him to be unwell over Christmas. x
