A HEALTH specialist has been nominated for an award after more than 30 years of raising awareness of diabetes.
Lisa Doughty, 53, has described her work as a lead diabetes specialist nurse as “a marvellous job.”
For decades, she has led a service which both raises awareness of diabetes and helps people who already suffer from the condition.
Her work has drawn praise from a member of the public who has nominated her for both Nurse of the Year and for a long term achievement honour at the Best of Health awards.
Her nomination read: “She builds excellent relations with service users and she is a real credit to the NHS.”
