Diabetes roadshow rolls into Harlow town centre

MORE than 100 people have been referred to their GP after visiting Diabetes UK’s healthy living roadshow in Harlow town centre this week.

The mobile testing unit rolled into Broad Walk on Tuesday morning, offering free diabetes risk assessment tests to shoppers.

Sharon Roberts, eastern regional manager for Diabetes UK said: “Up to 80 per cent of cases of Type 2 diabetes could be delayed or prevented with healthy lifestyle changes.

Well, at least that is better than the simplistic 'get fat, get diabetes' message...
