The Harborough group of Diabetes UK presented a cheque for ?4,000 to researchers at Leicester University to aid them with their research into the disease.
The money was raised from an autumn fair, a stall at Harborough Late Night Shopping, second hand books that were sold at Wesses Bakery, regular raffles and donations.
Research at Leicester University is looking at the barriers that doctors and nurses in general practice have faced when helping people to live with Type 2 Diabetes. The results will help in providing more effective care.
