On August 30, Krystal Boyea will embark on a courageous journey to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, with the support of local business entities including Sagicor Life Inc.
As the International Diabetes Federation?s Youth Regional Representative for the North American and Caribbean Region, Krystal will join nine other Type 1 Diabetics from around the world who will make the arduous trek to the peak of the world-famous African mountain. Mount Kilimanjaro stretches 15 100 feet from its base to its summit. The youth representatives have embarked on the climb to raise awareness about the diseases and demonstrate that persons diagnosed with diabetes are not limited by their condition.
