Doctors think they are giving people with diabetes much more advice about adopting healthier lifestyles than the patients think they are getting, according to new research.
It found that nearly all clinicians said they routinely talked about the importance of physical activity with overweight people who have diabetes, yet less than half of these people could recall being given such advice in the previous 12 months.
The study, led by Newcastle University, was funded by the charity Diabetes UK which said it was concerned by the findings.
