Welcome
below 42 is normal, 42-47mmol/mol is prediabetes anything over is diabetic
Have you had an HbA1C test, you would need that to know but being thirsty is one of the symptoms. I should cut out those sweets pronto.

I not understand this Jargon , and why it sat normal and pre diabetes ? These are my results , can u tell me if they diabetes or not please .

Welcome to the forum @Goldengirl

Sorry about the confusion with your numbers.

Your GP or nurse will probably want to discuss them with you.

The usual ranges are:

42-47 means ‘at risk of diabetes’ (sometimes called prediabetes)
48 and above (if confirmed by a second test) suggests diabetes.

Do try not to worry until you’ve spoken to your GP or nurse. They’ll be able to help you interpret the results

Are you seeing your result on your patient record as there is often the reference range given also.
Can you replicate exactly what is says including the units.
Diagnostic levels can be different in other parts of the world, are you in the UK.

Thankyou very much for your advice leading lights . Yes I will cut down on Sweets . And get the Thirsty investigated. It so confusing as I had a cheap online test posted to my door about year n half ago , it stripes of pastel paper, and it say my ketone is high ?

36 is less than 42 so not prediabetic or diabetic

I'm in uk yes. I not understand referance range ? Or units

If your 36 mmol/mol was from a cheap on line test a year and a half ago I would suggest you get one done by your GP as those test are not likely to be reliable as the sample needed is a blood sample taken from your are and sent to the pathology lab. If that long ago your body can change even over a short period of time.
