Stanley Clark, 1934 - 2011.

Stanley Clark was an electronics engineer and inventor who won praise from the medical profession in Australia for improving the quality of life for thousands of diabetics - particularly children - through his development of the first portable battery-operated blood-glucose monitor.

Health issues rattle UT police (India)

Repeated advice of Chandigarh police's health wing for police personnel to maintain their fitness seems to be falling on deaf ears. In the second such incident for the past six months, a head constable of UT police Balbir Singh, 44, died due to medical complications on Sunday. He was suffering from diabetes and hypertension

Dog could help girl cope with diabetes (USA)

Tammy Ney shudders to think about not being able to wake her 4-year-old daughter, Kaydence. Ney sleeps each night in spurts, waking to an alarm every few hours so she can check on her little girl. Is Kaydence's blood sugar too high? Too low? Will she go into a diabetic seizure, or worse - a coma? "It's not an easy disease to live with," Ney said of Kaydence's type 1 diabetes.
