A TYPE 2 diabetes diagnosis was not the Christmas surprise Pauline Bunker was hoping for.
But, two years after receiving the news in December 2009, she is looking forward to celebrating the festive season with her health back on track and a new wardrobe after weight loss achieved by a modified diet.
Ms Bunker said her initial diagnosis left her angry, depressed and uncertain.
?It was a shock and that first conversation was a blur,? Ms Bunker said.
?After a few days to process things, I decided that I wasn?t going to let it stop me living the life I imagined when I retired, so I set about finding out how to deal with it.?
