An enterprising teenager diagnosed with type 1 diabetes has been inspired by her condition to raise funds to find a cure for herself and others.
Madeleine Young was 12 years old when she was told she would be insulin-dependent for the rest of her life.
Far from letting it get her down, however, the active teenager, now 15, runs a successful stall full of homemade crafts at car boot and jumble sales in a bid to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
