A five-month-old puppy trained to smell blood sugar levels in its diabetic owner is believed to be the only service dog working full time in a British court.
Bertie is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. He has been given special permission to sit beside his owner, Joanne Golding, who is a senior solicitor working at Hull Crown Court and has type one diabetes.
