A neurologist, a dentist, a chef and a communication specialist are just part of the eclectic mix of health experts who are gathered this weekend to keep the community informed about diabetes.
Hundreds are expected to attend today's 12th Annual Guam Diabetes Conference, which features presentations from a variety of experts.
Chef Jacqueline Cabrera, a Guam native visiting from Washington, will give an inspirational talk titled "A Loss of Sight Leads to a Vision in Life." Cabrera was diagnosed with Type I diabetes when she was 11 years old, and lost her vision to the disease about 10 years ago.

Not sure about the Type 1 hoping to 'get off the medications altogether'...🙄 Interesting to read about diabetes and how it is being approached in different parts of the world 🙂
