Cases of diabetes in Coventry are soaring at an ?alarming? rate, new figures show.
New analysis by Diabetes UK reveals there are now 357 more people with diabetes in Coventry than there were a year ago.
The charity says addressing this should be a top health priority for the city as its research shows 20,214 people in Coventry are now thought to have diabetes ? which is up from 19,857 in 2012.
It means that 7.8 per cent of people in the area are now thought to have the condition. Diabetes UK warns the proportion is expected to rise further over the next few years.
