Family and friends of a diabetic woman who died in her sleep revealed they smashed a ?30,000 fundraising target running the London Marathon in her memory.

Emily Pearce, 29, a social worker from Crowthorne, died in April last year from ?dead in bed syndrome? after successfully managing her type one diabetes for 10 years.

Her sister Alison said: ?Emily had a confirmed place to run the marathon for this year deferred from the previous.

?Running the London Marathon for Diabetes UK was on her list of things she wanted to do before she was 30. Because she couldn?t do it some friends talked after her funeral and decided to run as a group.?
