Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi there, I am writing on behalf of my mum who has type 2 diabetes and also has a stoma. Unfortunately, the tablets she has took in the past for her diabetes are giving her an upset tummy and was wondering if anyone has any advice on this matter or knows of any tablets that are kinder to the tummy. My mum is 68 years old and fit and healthy in every way. Does a lot of walking and manages her weight quite well. Any information will be appreciated.
Many thanks 🙂

Hi Tina, welcome to the forum 🙂 Do you know what the tablets are called? Metformin has a bit of a reputation, and there is a 'kinder'. slowe-release version for people who don't get on with the ordinary type.

Hi tina0103, welcome to the forum.

Some people who are prescribed Metformin find it upsets them. I was like this and the doctor changed them to the SR version (sustained release) which are much kinder on the tum.

Do you know what tablets she was prescribed previously?
