Hi All,

Quick question. For the months running up to my diabetes diagnosis (T1) my bloods were over 40 consistently according to my Hb1 thingy. Without any knowledge of diabetes I never felt the lethargy and tiredness as I do now since I have been put on insulin.

Anyone else know why? I thought I felt normal before, now I am always tired if my bloods are high?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know for sure, but maybe before you were diagnosed it was a gradual increase in blood sugar to the point where it was always high and your body therefore adapted in terms of how you felt about it. But now has got used to the normal feeling of blood sugar not being high so notices the fluctuation to high again?

Our bodies are amazing at getting used to conditions that build up slowly.
it is likely that your levels were gradually rising and your body didn’t notice.
When you start to treat the high levels and your body gets used to being lower, the less common highs are less familiar so you feel the lethargy, etc.
