Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have read as a type 2 you are at more risk of colon cancer is this true?
I got to looking at this when the bowel cancer screening kit came.My blood test of HbaIC were ok 51 cholesterol FBC Liver renal etc.do you take any notice of what they come up with on the internet.

I've only had diabetes for 46 years and have never heard such scaremongering bollards before - well I've heard plenty of that but not this one!

Who on earth told you that rubbish?

I take some notice of what I hear on the internet BUT only from sources I trust! The NHS are good, LOL

i rang diabetes uk and the lady got on the internet and said that there are some studies that say there are links.she suggested helpline cancer research uk.She said there is more of a risk factor with diabetes but it could be some of the contributors to diabetes like overweight diet etc could be the reason.
i think the jury is out on this.

High blood sugars can help feed cancer cells, but by keeping diabetes under control, there is no reason at all for their to be any more risk of cancer than anyone else.
