Hi everyone, i have just been diagnosed, I lost nearly a stone and half, so i have gone from 12stone to 10 n half, NOT GOOD, my blood is still in the teens, i have cut carbs out vertually, but still loosing weight that cant afford to loose, my question is, in order to put weight back on, what can i eat lots of? thanks in advance.

Welcome Jason,

I hate to tell you this but it looks like T1.... I'd make another appointment to get a confirmed diagnosis of T1 or T2.... In the meantime I'd test for Ketones (get pee strips form the pharmacy) elevated ketone levels can be dangerous

Hello, Jason, and welcome to the forum. Frankly, if your blood glucose is in the teens, nothing you eat will help you put on weight, because your body will be trying to flush out the excess glucose, which I guess is why you've lost so much weight already.
As Martin says, above, you could be Type1, and this needs checking out. ( it is possible to develop type 1 diabetes at any age, I was 51, but my GP was unaware that this was possible. Fortunately she referred me to the hospital where I was correctly diagnosed) Whatever type you turn out to be, this isn't something you can fix with diet, so go back to your GP, tell him/her you aren't eating any carbs, and your blood glucose is still in the teens, ( it should ring alarm bells) and ask for further tests and a referral to a hospital clinic.

Nothing to add, except I agree with Martin and Robin !

Definitely agree with the others there, if you're losing weight without eating carbs then the docs need to know.

But also, cheese.

Just eat lots of good stuff to try keep the weight ON / UP. Cheese helps ,eggs, protein, loads of veg etc. But get a second opinion as well regarding T1 etc Good luck
