Dexcom One+ and Apple iWatch

Hi all

I’m trialling the new Dexcom One+ sensor… a few days in and it’s looking good! Happy to write my experiences if anyone is interested.

BUT… being the techie lover I am I was particularly keen to see that it works with my Apple Watch, setup has not been smooth and I still have problems. I managed to get the watch app to load and start displaying data after a few reboots of phone and watch although I cannot get complications to work!

Anyone else with similar experiences or the golden cure to the issue?

Thanks, have fun

Pete

Can't help about the setting up problem I'm afraid. But a review of your experiences with the Dex One+ in comparison to Libre 2 would be really helpful. Are you self-funding or getting it on prescription?

Hi, thanks!

The One+ is a bit new I think, I reported to the help line but they didn’t really know tbh.

The One+ is very much similar in footprint to the Libre 2. The application of the sensor is very similar for both of them. I tried the older 1 but found that fiddly with the two part sensor/transmitter. The libre2 and one+ are both an all in one device.

I’m actually wearing both at the same time at the moment. There is a discrepancy between the two in readings but within 1.

The app interface is good, clear display with the arrow indicator and choice of time span to view. The other graphic just shows the time in range which is the important factor with T2 management. You can find extra detail using the second “clarity” app for review with your health care assistant, etc.

I have an issue with the Libre2 where it loses signal (I don’t think this is a common problem though) the nice thing about the One+ is it auto reconnects without swiping.

The only downside is the One+ sensor only lasts 10 days, but in all I will probably switch permanently to the Dexcom One+

Just to say I’m not sponsored by Abbott or Dexcom. NHS funded sensors not self funding.

Hope that helps!

Pete

Hope you manage to find a way to get the tech to talk to each other properly!

Hi Pete,
I can’t help with the iWatch connection but am interested to learn about your experience with the One+ as l thinking about asking to move to it. Does it have many options for alert tones that you can choose between? I’d like to move to something with more options than Libre 2

Hi @Jwill, try asking Dexcom direct about the One+ capabilities. You could go direct to their tech support . Or they have a Patient Care Specialist
Kymberley (Kym( Fearn (RGN)

kym.fearn@dexcom.com
Dexcom UK and Ireland

She might reply to you direct or deflect your query to Tech Support. I don't have a direct phone numbe, my recent calls show her calling me from a withheld number.

I get a lot of alert tone options from my G7. Worth asking if the G7 alert tones are available to Dex One+. If not, suggest to Kym Fearn as feedback that Dex One + needs better. She originally promoted it to me and has been involved in the development and into service FAQs for new devices.

Hi @Proud to be erratic - thank you! That’s really useful, will do

I also have the Dexcom ONE+ and my Apple watch doesn't display anything. It just says "Check Dexcom mobile app on your phone"
