Well I was under the impression that you had to be referred by a GP or nurse for a DESMOND course, but this is apparently not the case.
Having just finished a five week course on managing diabetes (type 2) which was available to book yourself into online I thought I'd try the same with a DESMOND course.
The course I've just finished was largely about psychology and behavior with two sessions conducted by a DSN. These were by FAR the most interesting and useful sessions, hence I thought I'd look for a DESMOND course online.
Found one locally, rang the number and they booked me in. Turns out that the DSN is the same one from the original course as well - great! she seemed very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.
So no waiting, no doctors appointments or anything. Course is on 10th December.
