Describing diabetes

Do your family /friends/relatives have an expression or a way to describe diabetes?

I saw my Mum today who is in her 90's, she has hardly ever mentioned or discussed diabetes with me over the years but on the odd occasion it is mentioned she always calls it "the jolly old diabetes" which immediately puts me in mind of the Enid Blyton Famous Five books.

I just wondered what other terms/descriptions you might have heard. 🙂

No, but I have many ways to describe it and none of them suitable to post here!

Friends and family just call it “the diabetes”. No lashings of ginger beer in my family

Tbh nobody mentions diabetes family or friends, always preferred it that way, maybe they know not to ask mention it.
