A £24 million research centre that will be at the forefront of finding cures for dementia and diabetes and will be opened in Milton Keynes today by Life Sciences Minister George Freeman.
The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) National Biosample Centre will open today in Tilbrook, and allow researchers to lead the way in finding diagnoses and treatments for conditions.
The Centre will increase the national capacity for biomedical and clinical research, encouraging more extensive studies to be based in the country.
The facilities will be available to academic and NHS health researchers, as well as researchers in the broader life sciences industry, and will be subject to strict research governance and ethical frameworks.
