I had a tin of del monte fruit cocktail in juice last night after tea. I hate fresh fruit but love the del monte tinned fruit especially the fruit cocktail where you get a bit of everything

I am just the opposite, love fresh fruit but hate tinned fruit except pineapple.
As a small child at school in the days when you had to eat everything on your plate even if it made you sick, there was tinned apricots and custard for pudding and I refused to eat them so was sent to the cloakroom with said apricots to eat them in there. But I stuffed the down the sink only to be found out later when they had blocked the drain and the sink overflowed.

I remember the dinner monitor (an old battleaxe) sending you back to finish if you left any food on your plate. I told her I felt sick and she said I couldn't leave until I'd finished. So I sat there until there was nobody left in the dining hall except me and the monitor. Then I was extremely sick all over the plate, took it up to her, and said "I told you I felt sick". I was taken to the headmaster then escorted home. I must have been about 7 at the time, and we didn't have a phone.
