A volunteer who has campaigned tirelessly for better diabetes care for people in Milton Keynes has won a special award from Diabetes UK.
Corrine Wykes, who is secretary of the MK Diabetes Group, was awarded the Raise Your Voice award at the charity’s regional Inspire Awards, on Saturday.
Corrine, 60, who was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 30 years ago, raises awareness of the condition as a Diabetes UK Service Champion and a member of the local Diabetes Voices Network. She also works hard to ensure that diabetes care and services remain high on the NHS agenda in Milton Keynes.
