Got a Lindt 70% cocoa Easter egg from the grandkids. I haven't had chocolate or sweets for four weeks. Are tiny nibbles now and again worth risking!

The darker the chocolate the less sugar there is, a little bit won't harm you and I assure you none of us would lead a very happy life if we didn't give in to temptations at some point, plus I think if you do it every so often your going to be less likely to decide one day you want a binge x

Well I won't take much persuading. 🙂 Not being an anorak but I'm four weeks into my diabetes and have got my BG consistently hovering between 5.7 and 7.5, with the odd highish spike when trying 'iffy' food. I've also got my weight below 12 stone for the first time in years, so don't want to rock the boat from it's even keel.

May I ask what you class as a highish spike, one thing I learned from here is what I was disappointed with many would have been happy with x

Savour it 🙂.
I agree with Kaylz, it's just we can't have too much or to many treats at a time.
One chocolate out of a box of chocs is not going to do much harm , where as several would.
Some things that I think of as treats are really diabetic friendly

I suppose anything over 3.

Your blood sugars are in the ranges for a T2. I'm 5 months in and have only this week seen low numbers as my spikes where in the 20s

A little of what we like won't harm us unless every day.
As @Kaylz says it stops the binging if we indulge now and again.

I take on board what you saying about moderation ........... had a wee taste laste night ......... nectar! 🙂

I had a lindt choc bunny for easter and just have a small amount at a time quite easy for me as I don't like it that much x haha x the grandson tried a bit and pulled a disgusted face he told me that black chocolate was yucky and he likes brown chocolate more ... I have to agree x lol x

Had to read that twice Browser...my hair practically stood on end!...realise now you mean a spike of 3...not a BG level of 3...phew...an occasional indulgence won't do you any harm...if you do spike...at least you'll know why...over a bank holiday weekend...I would say it's allowed.
