After a month of BG reading from 25.7 to bg meter saying HI, I am now on the above as well as gliclazide. I have been referred to diabetic clinic at local hospital. It seems I am borderline and that insulin will be on the cards in not so distant future. Not surprised really.

Do make sure you drink plenty, I think it is recommended you drink 3 litres a day and of course that can lead to frequent loo visits. Also be aware that a side effect can be thrush or UTIs as the medication is encouraging the kidneys to excrete excess glucose via urine providing a nice sugary environment that those bugs just love.
I hope the clinic sorts out a treatment plan for you asap. Are they proposing to do the tests for Type 1, C-peptide and GAD antibodies.

Also make sure you have ketone sticks as this medication can cause DKA especially if you aren’t making enough insulin
