Hi Damo,
If you've just started on insulin then your health care team are probably still trying to get the dosage amounts right. What kind of insulin are you on, and how many injections a day? In my first week after leaving hospital I kept in contact with the nurses and gave them my blood sugar readings. They then told me what adjustments to make.
Of course, one of the big factors in your levels will be the amount of food, especially carbohydrate - bread, potatoes, rice pasta etc. - you are eating.
Give it time, and you'll get the knowledge of how much insulin you need to get your levels into the ideal ranges. Feel free to ask any questions here - there are an awful lot of very knowledgeable and experienced people here!🙂
