Forgive my ignorance - but what does DAFNE stand for? Son 7 weeks diag type 1. Bev

Hi Bev DAFNE stands for (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating) you usually go on a five day course for adults with Type 1 to learn about managing diabetes, food and injections.

Thanks Noreen, is it something that is offered or do you have to apply for it? And is it just for adults or for children too? Thanks again for making it clear. Bev x

They do something similar for kids called Kids in control (KICk OFF) of food tailored for 11 - 16yrs. If I was you I'd ask the G.P. or Diabetic Nurse if you could go on a course.
