Well I went on the D.A.F.N.E course last week and it was superb. Met really nice people, shared lots of experiences, got background levels and ratios sorted, finely tuned my carb counting, better understand correction doses, know what to do on those nasty sick days and realised I have been overtreating hypos. Also identified the little things Id let slip over the last 8 months - the list goes on of what I have learned in just 5 days. And the main thing is I can see the difference in my levels already.
A sample of my levels over the weekend
BGL
09/03/2013 10:20 6.1
09/03/2013 10:46 5.7
09/03/2013 11:30 5.6
09/03/2013 21:20 5.1
10/03/2013 00:00 6.9
10:03/2013 14:45 5.7
10/03/2013 19:16 6.6
11/03/2013 08:40 6.1
All thanks to everything I learned on last weeks course. I cant say enough how valuable last week was - if anyone gets the chance to do this course - please take it. Its quite intense and tiring but well worth it. And Ive recommended this site to my new Type 1 buddies - so a few more Weegies (Glasgwegians) may be lurking on here soon.
All in all a great experience and I look forward to the follow up in April where hopefully our Hba1cs will be well on target. I am a happy D.A.F.N.E graduate (and have the certificate to prove it)
