Katie Clark has trained for long rides on her bicycle. She has pedaled through the punishing heat of Death Valley to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Now, she and her bicycle have defeated the steep stone steps outside the Felt Mansion in Shore Acres Park in the first DuneCross race.
?Those steps were killers,? she said Saturday as she stretched out on the cool grass in front of the mansion in Laketown Township. She and her daughter, Anna, 9, finished their first ever cyclocross with more than 60 other riders.
