Hi Recently diagnosed T2 and only myself to blame but maybe with some dodgy genetics. At age 54 still hoping to have many years of cycling and hill walking. Prediabetic for 12mths only just tipped over in to diagnosis now trying to improve habits reduce weight in vane hope of remission. Keen to talk to other cyclists wanting to achieve same and keep pedalling.

Welcome to the forum @PJN

Sorry to hear you’ve just tickled over into the diabetes zone, but don’t blame yourself. There’s far too much stigma and blame around T2 diabetes, and it is entirely unhelpful. Developing diabetes is far more complex than much of the media coverage (and even some healthcare professionals) make out. What’s more important is what you do next, and how you respond to it 🙂

Great to hear you are keen to stay active. We have a few riders on the forum. Perhaps take a peek at the Exercise and Sport section to compare notes 🙂
