FORMER MP David Drew has voiced concern after official figures appeared to show a significant drop in the number of nurses employed by the NHS.

The Labour Party politician, who will be bidding to regain the seat he lost to Neil Carmichael at the next general election in 2015, said figures released by the NHS information centre showed that there are 5,890 fewer nurses now than there were when the Tories and Lib Dems took office in 2010.
