Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi guys. Going for an Indian for first time since diagnosis 2 weeks ago. Type 2, hba1c 54, taking 1000mg metformin.
What do I order? I guess it’s tandoori mixed grill and a chapati? What about a couple of beers? I’ve been really good since diagnosis and trying to better understand the life of a diabetic…do’s and dont’s. It’s a minefield

I go for tandoori chicken which my local serves with salad, and I have a side of mushroom bhaji which they do as a spicy stew of mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. I skip chapati, naan and puppadums, and stick to sparkling water.

Thank you Felinia those are roughly my thoughts

A chicken shashlik or meat tandoori, salad, a bit of minty yoghurt. Nibble 1cm of boyfriend's chapati. sparkling water. maybe some of that spinach with spices?
