Hello,

I have been looking at the omnipod...and I've grown to quite like it...mainly the fact that it is tubeless, so my one year old cannot pull it and play with it...despite it being hidden - she knows where it is!! lol

Anyhow, I was talking to my old consultant back in London and she said it's only mainly available for pediatrics on the NHS?? Is this true??

I know I cannot just request a new pump, as I think I have atleast a year left until I can renew my pump. I was just curious! x

No idea but someone here has literally just had one, and she's DEFO an adult! so I think it just depends where you live. Coventry (so UHCW) appear to be pretty well joined at the hip to Roche so I've never been offered anything else.

I did mention to my DSN the fact that the Med meter does now communicate a bit with the pump even though it's not a full remote like the Roche ones, cos I don't think anyone's quite as much in love with the Insight as they were the Combo, so I thought it was worth saying this in passing - having already said I'd have to think a lot more than twice about having another Insight myself (but years away so no rush LOL)

Anyway - you'll find out once you actually get referred. How long has it been now - and have you checked with the surgery to ensure they've actually referred you anywhere?

I thought I see that too! Haven't got a clue what pumps are like up here!

Yeah I loved the remote for my combo....the remote on the medtronic is only for preset bolus....doesn't really help if you want to use the bolus wizard, where you have to get the pump out...nightmare if you are wearing a dress lol!

I'm still trying to get a GP appointment....it has been a full on nightmare!! So probably a while yet!! Sigh.
