Hi, I measured my blood sugar before bed, it was 5.1! Got up this morning 7.2. What changes it overnight?

This could be Dawn Phenomenon.
To help us start the day, our liver dumps glucose into our blood. This gives us the energy we need to go hunting and foraging ... or at least it would if we hunted and foraged and if our pancreas worked properly.
The liver dump happens to most people but they don't notice because a healthy pancreas reacts to the glucose by releasing insulin.

Some people find this happens in the early hours and some people find it happens as soon as the get out of bed ... the latter is often referred to as "Foot on the Floor"
