Creon shortage mentioned on Casualty

Good old Casualty, years since watched it but was once a institution in our house on a Saturday night.

Ordered Creon using online pharmacy service for very first time recently, was quite impressed actually as from ordering to delivery by Royal Mail took about 8 days, previously using local pharmacy Creon would sometimes take weeks to arrive, guess is that that online pharmacy has more buying power than local branches perhaps.

Morning both,
Can understand it being about buying power if it was about a local independent pharmacy vs a large chain but in my experience that is not the case.
I struggled at times to get it when I used Well Pharmacy and know others when it is day Tesco however I have had no issues getting Creon from my Internet pharmacy who fortunately is based only a mile from my house.
They deliver it free and I suspect they get it as they have multiple wholesaler accounts and take the time and trouble to source it rather than a national chain which will use one wholesaler and have corporate policy’s to deal with the Creon shortage.

I switched creon to online 2 months ago. First prescription arrived with no delay. Second prescription rejected by email with no option to pick up a code to use at another pharmacy....Received the rest of the second prescription yesterday 2.5 hours before the Royal Mail App said it would be delivered. Luckily we were in. The delivery was Track 24 and every thing was soaked because the insulin ice wrap was totally defrosted...

Not sure whether mentioning this is going to jinx it - the last couple of times that I've requested Creon I've been able to collect it at the same time as the rest of the request. Before that it had been a year since that had happened.
Maybe things are looking up (that's definitely jinxed it!).

It's Well that I sighed up to, even though we have few local branches who are dire btw it's online service is based in Stoke on Trent where prescription items are sent from.

To date just had 1 prescription so time will tell .

Yep @nonethewiser
I live fairly close to Stoke on Trent and have a heavy concentration of Well Pharmacy and they have a branch next door to my GPs.
Am lucky that I have a really supportive GP and dispensing service.
At first I used my Well Pharmacy and pharmacist is really helpful but once could not get a Creon and they sourced it via another local independent pharmacy.
My GP suggested this local Internet Pharmacy and I had never heard of them. They are based on a farm I used to walk past and they deliver free locally and we have never been let down by them in the 12 months we have been using them.
